Navette Marquis shape sepia painted mourning brooch.It is extremely rare.It is hand painted in sepia & excepitionl chopped hairwork on bone all covered with a piece of a rock crystal panel set in a rolled gold frame.It has it's original c-clasp pin.The sepia painting depicting a neoclassical sepia miniature portrait of a woman standing by a anchor on bone.This item is from a a Baltimore MD.estate and clould be a early piece of American made Sentimental jewelry.Condition rolled gold has some wear from age.The brooch is 1" by 1/2".
