Description:
We're just back from France with this great find from the
Southern French flea markets. . .a stunning late 18th century
Country French walnut server/ cradenza. The walnut has
attained a rich warm patina as have all the ORIGINAL harware--
note the hand forged escutchions and hinges! It dates to circa
1790-1830 and has spent the last two centuries in a farm in
Provence. Note the very French blue painted inside--a great
touch of authentic French country. The hand carved details are
stunning and sophisticated in their simplicity. . .a true heirloom
acquisition for the century to come. Both the door at the bottom
and the top drawer have a lock and it comes with the original
key, The over all contition is very good and shows signs
consistant with two centuries of use. There is an age crack in the
front door. AUthentic country French just doesn't get any better
than this piece!
