Description: This is a small 18th century circa 1775. It is from the famous Paris porcelain factory , Clignancourt by Comte de Provence (brother of Louis XV) founded in 1771. The Neoclassical shape tea pot is white porcelain painted with gold gilt saw tooth decoration with a gold gilt artichoke finial . The tea pot is good condition with a hairline around the top part of where the handle connects to the body of the pot. Height 4" by 6" 1/2 wide. As of 1770, a large number of porcelain factories were set up in the capital. In order to avoid the royal privileges that banned production outside the Royal Manufactories (Sèvres, Vincennes, etc) and to have the right to produce, factories placed themselves under the protection of leading personalities (Comte de Provence, Comte d’Artois, Duc d’Orléans, and others). As for Marie Antoinette, from 1776, she protected André Marie Leboeuf, established in Rue Thiroux, which later became what was known as the Manufacture dite de la Reine.
