Description: A beautiful antique 1880's Simons Bros Co. 14K gold thimble with an engraved Village Landscape scene of a church, bridge over a stream and trees. The band at the bottom has finely detailed seashells & starfish. This thimble was acquired from an estate in Gill, Massachusetts and a note that came with the thimbe reads "Great-Aunt Mrs. Mortimer (Elizabeth) Nickerson's gold thimble". The Nickersons were one of the first families to settle in Chatham, Cape Cod Mass. It has the Simons hallmark on the inside bottom along with 14K. Thimble is in excellent condition; probably never used and weighs 2.3 dwt. It is a size 7 and has not been monogrammed.
