Description: Elegant Georgian antique sterling silver "muffineer" used for sprinkling spices such as sugar or pepper on breads such as a muffin. This fabulous piece is fully hallmarked, revealing it was made by the famous "Queen of English silversmiths", Hester Bateman. The HB hallmark has been over struck but is definitely Hester Bateman. The initial "B" is hand-engraved on front. Matches #91529 by Peter, Ann and William Bateman. $1500. This is another fine antique offered by Chancery Lane Antiques, Inc.
