Description:
"Lion Brooch: One marked 14k yellow gold brooch measuring 3.25" x 3.75". The piece is a cast Asian lion with two bezel set 4.5mm B quality emerald cabachon eyes. The tail of the lion is set with six white gold heads each prong set with one 2.2mm full cut diamond of SI clarity and G and H color, approx. 1/4 carat total diamond weight. The mane of the lion is made of rows of teardrop shaped domes each with a lined diamond cut white gold center with twisted wire edges. The body and features of the lion are diamond cut and the animal stands on an elongated diamond cut filegree box. The lion appears to be rolling a wheel backed woth a gold frame and made of a carved light grey-green jadite hade sotne measuring 56mm with a free spinning center. The brooch has an attached hinged pin and a sliding clutch. 74DWT." The preceeding is taken directly from an appraisal done on August 5, 2008. The appraised value of the brooch is $9,950.
