Description: This is a beautiful French brass Morbier Wall Clock with enamel dial hand painted with flowers and the name of the retailer, as was common practice in the late 19th century. The brass surround is beautifully detailed with cherubs or putti. The face of the clock is supported on a wrought iron bracket which attaches to the wall. The clock has the same movement as a longcase clock and keeps good time. It has recently been overhauled by a master clockmaker and carries a 1 year guarantee. The weights are both original to the piece as is the large brass pendulum. It strikes the hour on a bell and repeats the hour a few minutes later. It was made ca 1880 and is in very good condition.
