Description: Fine old Tekke rug, third quater 19th century. The madder red field of this exptionally fine Tekke Turkmen rug contains three vertical rows of twelve Tekke tribal gols. It represents either two magor or sub-tribes of the tekke. The wool is soft and silky and I would guess the weaver was highly experienced.
