Detailing of jugs of this sort is rarely so fine, but here the artist has attempted life-like shading and veining on the flowers and leaves that adorn both sides of this piece. The whole of the bulbous body is lavish with copper luster, which covers the finely molded rim of grapevines, the fluted lip and the graceful handle. Superb condition. English, circa 1830. Approximately 5-1/2 inches tall and seven inches across at the widest diameter. (For another example of this ware, please see Trocadero 16180.)
