Pleasing portrait of this young man wearing a white hat.The name of the daguerreotypist, Hale, is stamped on the mat. The image is still sealed, and is covered by a slightly convex glass. The date August 20th, 1852 is scratched on the back of the plate, along with the name of the sitter, "Jim" plus part of his last name. Nice condition with no damage.
