CZECH 1930's SIGNED ENGRAVED CAMEO GLASS VASE 4
This outstanding CAMEO glass vase with hand engraved female figures is true museum quality MASTERPIECE. Each of the fine detailed females is depicting one of the FOUR SEASONS of the year - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Until recently, this extremely scarce (and most costly) type of Czech Art glass was "forgotten" in American publications on the subject. Please refer to the book of "Collectible Bohemian Glass 1915-45, Vol. II" by Robert & Deborah Truitt, which is an excellent source of information for Collectors in this field. Comparable (not as good in my opinion) is listed on page 34 #1-4, and valued $3000-$4000. Please note that Art Glass of this caliber takes up to 5 months to complete. This breathtaking piece was acquired directly from Hlousek family. Rudolf Hlousek was one of the renowned glass makers in the pre-WWII Czechoslovakian era. Listed in numerous Czech publications, his works are displayed in museums specializing in Czechoslovakian glass. This is the first piece of this design made and kept by the family. The figures were completely hand engraved in high relief, than acid etched and polished. It survived 70 years of existence in excellent condition. Dimension approx. : 10"H, walls are almost 1 inch thick, weight 9 lbs. Signed in engraved script R. Hlousek, Czechoslovakia c. 1930-40's. Pictures provided showcase each of the Four Seasons and also details. May we ask you to consider this true collector's item? We are limited to 4 images, so please email for more photos - have larger more detailed pictures....
