This is a handle less cup or mug made to commemorate the coronation in 1937 of King Edward VIII. Edward VIII was never crowned be cause he abdicated to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. Edward VIII was the uncle of the Queen Elizabeth II. The ceramic cup or beaker is 4.5 high by 3 inches in diameter at the top an features a color profile of Edward VII with dedication and color surround and his cipher on the reverse. The beaker or cup was made by Myott, England as part of the British Pottery Manufacturers Federation. The cup, beaker mug is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is a bit of minor crazing which is normal for this type of glaze. The graphics on this beaker are the best of this type of beaker, cup or handle less mug I have had. The beaker or cup is part of a royal memorabilia collection I recently acquired.
