This is a hand faceted English crystal carving knife rest shaped like a barbell I brought home recently made in England 1900-1920. The crystal knife rest measures 1.75 inches in diameter at the ends by 5 inches long and is in excellent condition with the tiniest fleabite on one end point. Knife rests were developed to keep your knife from dirtying the tablecloth at meals and is a great decorating trend today.
