A Corona 3 portable folding typewriter, This one made around 1920 and sold for $50.00 making it possible for anyone to own a typewriter that could be used at home, in the office, on the train, anywhere. They came with carrying cases, but the one for this machine is long gone. It measures 9 1/2" long, 9 1/2" wide and 5 1/2" tall in working position. The machine is in relatively good condition, a good cleaning would certainly help. Introduced in 1907 the last patent date on the back of this one is July 10, 1917. In 1919 production of this typewriter was a staggering 153,000 machines, Underwood and Remington introduced they're first portables in 1919 and 1920 respectively, nearly a decade after the corona had taken the market by storm.
