This wonderful Pegasus Coro brooch is called the “Dancing Donkey”. It is perfect forthis year’s political scene! The design dates from 1945 and is by Adolph Katz. According to Julia Carroll's "Costume Jewelry 202" the donkey was called "Dancing Monkey". This brooch has been listed in many jewelry books among them, Brunialti's "American Costume Jewelry", page 81. The donkey is shining goldtone with large navette ruby rhinestone ears and clear sparkling baguettes used for the mane. The eye on the brooch is a beautiful topaz blue. Signed Pegasus Coro, brooch measures 1-1/2 " x 2 inches.
