Portrait of celebrated Noir Fiction writer Cornell Woolrich ("Rear Window") by Chris Pelletiere, New York Artist. Painted Circa 1970-80. Size 50" X 50" wood slat frame, oil on canvas. Signed on back frame. A feww small patches of missing paint.
"Painter, illustrator, and cartoonist who cites his early influences as the pre-code crime and horror comics. His cartoons and illustrations have appeared in small horror and fantasy magazines from Fantico Press, and he was also a political cartoonist for The Soho Weekly News. Published work includes The A to Z Encyclopedia of Serial Killers, Song by Brigit Pegeen Kelly, Art and the Law, Dagon and The Grabinski Reader (vols. 4 & 5). His work is in many public and private collections including The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, The New York Public Library, Stephen King, Zak Norman, Robert Bloch, Roald Dahl, John Collier, Ramsey Campbell, and Albert Boime."
