Antique English Copeland Parian Bisque Sculpture Entitled Sunshine by William Brodie

This nineteenth century parianware bisque porcelain sculpture by Copeland is entitled Sunshine. It is in excellent condition and measures 20" tall and 5.75" across, and weighs an estimated 5-7 lbs. It is signed " Wm. BRODIE A RSA. Sc. 1858. COPYRIGHT RESERVED COPELAND ". It is modelled by William Brodie in 1858 and versions of Sunshine are said to have been exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1859, 1863 and 1869, and at the English Royal Academy in 1862. We estimate this piece dates from the 1860s. There are no signs of repair and no noticeable damages requiring repair.
