**COLUMBUS TIME KING 21 JEWELS FANCY HUNTING CASE TWO-TONE Circa: 1894. This is a rare two-tone version of this already rare high grade. The price guide does not record this rare two-tone model. From 1894 through February 14,1903 the Columbus Watch Co. produced watches both under the Columbus Watch Co. and the New Columbus Watch Co. name. The re-organized company produced the same models, but switched primarily to named grades such as Time King, Columbus King, etc. The higher grade watches were assigned a special block of serial numbers from 500,000 to 506,000. This watch was among the first 500 produced of 6,000 total. This rare Columbus is clean, running and especially rare and interesting. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
DIAL: Original white porcelain double sunken dial with Roman figures and signed: “COLUMBUS” in Gothic Logo Script. Hairlines exist at the edge of 4 and 7, which does not distract. This is the correct, original dial for this model.
MOVEMENT: 18 size, hunting model, lever set, bright, bold two-tone gold and nickel damascening patters, marked; ‘COLUMBUS/ TIME KING”, 21 Jewels”, “ADJUSTED”, serial number 500,546.
CASE: 25 year Philadelphia Watch Case Co. yellow gold filled with engine turning, fancy flower designs and a blank shield and dust cover. Very nice.
