A classic poster, measuring approx. 24 x39 inches, of a wonderfully scenic nordic panorama. Created by Ivar Gull - an artist well known in Iceland, Finland and Sweden but not as well known in the US - in 1939, this poster was so well received that it was reproduced in 1955 and reprinted at that time. This poster is from the first (original) printing and is in very good condition (A-) It has a professionally restored tear on the bottom right (shown in photograph) but is otherwise in good shape considering its age. Colors pop and the scene is so believable that it makes you want to take a trip to Norway just to visit the church depicted herein. Printed for the Norwegian State Railways by the Norsk Lithographisk Officin in 1939 , the poster is in very good condition and mounted on linen.
