Ambrotype 9th plate 2" x 2 1/2" in a Union Case of a young civil war era student with what seems to be holding a riding crop. Under the blanket cover he seems to be wearing some sort of school uniform. The case and ambrotype are in amazingly excellent condition. Around the picture frame border are canons and union flags. Below are the words "Union Now And Forever" On the inside and under the image is the name of the studio and photographer named Becker Hudson New York. The Union Case with brass hinges was manufactured by Littlefield and Parsons April 21 1857.
