Circa 1935 Richard Hudnut Compact & Lipstick

Unavailable
This circa 1935 Richard Hudnut enameled compact and lipstick comes in its original packaging including its gold foil striped hinged box and soft gray cloth cover! This remarkable compact is made of highly polished goldtone metal with white enameling. It comes with a lipstick and is designed so that the lipstick cannot fall out--you have to open the compact to get the lipstick out. The unused dark red lipstick wears a paper label marked "American Beauty Hudnut" and is in a "Caplok" case marked with Patent # 2013308. It is also marked "Dubarry Made in USA" and "Richard Hudnut New York Distributor Paris." The compact open to reveal quite a bit of the original powder along with the original powder puff. There is no powder screen although this particular model may not have come with a screen. The mirror is bright and shiny and the enameling is perfect, although there is one light 1/4" scratch on the top which does not detract but is mentioned for accuracy. This is an excellent find for a collector and a great gift!
