This wonderful set of solid mahogany dining chairs consists of 5 side chairs and one armchair. The side chairs measure 40.5” tall, 22” deep and 23” wide. The armchair measures 40.5” tall, 23” deep and 28.5” wide. They exemplify classic, Chippendale Centennial furniture due to their age and styling. Their attention to detail, crisp carvings, weightiness and rich, original finish make them highly desirable. Notice the curvaceous carved crest, pierced and complicated center splat, intricately carved acanthus leaves on the knees and the boldly carved ball and claw feet. The chairs retain their original leather seats. These can be easily recovered simply by unscrewing four screws and lifting out the seats. All the chairs are tight, having no breaks or repairs. The armchair has a 2” long thin slice of wood missing along the left arm towards the back. This is only visible upon very close examination. Their finish is original and in excellent condition having a very desirable color and patina.
