A remarkable treasure! Still in original condition, this antique Chinese red lacquered cabinet retains much of its gilt painting on its exterior face. The crackled finish includes various landscape settings with rock outcroppings and birds and flowers can be seen on the front doors, while floral motifs decorate the edges of the cabinet. The cache area front panel, directly under the doors, is decorated with various flower vases. The front apron has carvings in each corner. The doors lie flush with the rest of the cabinet members, and are hung on internal wood tenon pin hinges. The generous storage inside includes an original shelf, a pair of original drawers and shelf, and a hidden compartment in the bottom which provides generous amounts of storage. The brass door medallion is carved.
