Beautiful red amber resin figure - looks like a scholar or elder, but could be a rendition of a buddha. Man with cap seated on high-backed chair or throne, holding a lidded box or bottle in his left hand. He wears traditional robes and a long beaded necklace. His chair has a snake carved to the rear. His robe is decorated with etched mythical birds and foliage. Item measures 21 cm high, 10 cm wide and 8.25 cm deep (8.1/4 inches by 4 inches by 3.1/4 inches). Excellent condition. Some small imperfections in the amber to the base, but no damage. Stunning piece, needs light behind it to really bring it alive. It weighs 1.105 kg, so a substantial piece. Freight would be by air courier Economy.
