This is a Chinese export hand mirror in its original box and probably dates from the 1940's. The handle is made of carved jadeite or possibly nephrite in the shape of an ancient figure, and there is a knob on the back of the handle made to look like an antique jade belt hook. The back of the mirror has a repousse serpent design in silver with beautiful detail. The glass in the mirror is flawless. The box has an orange and white sticker showing that it was made in China, and Art No. is R620-32, and there are also the letters "NPY" in brown marker. This mirror is truly an art piece!
