What a cutie this is and imagine all its possible uses! Here is a hard to find (the first one we have seen or owned!) child size walnut Victorian lockside or tall chest of drawers in the Eastlake style. Imagine this in your hall, or dining room to hold your sterling silver, or in your bedroom to store your jewelry, or in your living room as a unique end table, or in your bathroom to store towels or toiletries! The mirror has an incised carved crest. Its frame also pivots for ease in viewing. The cabinet has 5 drawers, each having burled walnut front and their original ebonized and brass pulls. Now check out where the lock is located on the trim to the right of the drawers. The trim is hinged and when in the closed position, secures the edges of the 5 drawers, locking them all shut. Amazingly, the chest or lockside retains its original working lock, key and escutcheon. The brass key escutcheon on the other side is only a dummy and is there for aesthetics and balance. All the drawers open and close smoothly. The chest rests on its original brass casters. The top has a small ½” dent in the wood and does not detract from its appeal. Otherwise, the finish is in excellent,
condition, having a rich color and patina. The height to the top of the cabinet is 32”. The height to the top of the mirror is 53”.
