Superb cherub gilt bronze French Empire clock circa 1800. The clock is in excellent condition lacking its pendulum. The original key is included. We have tested the movement and it works fine. The clock has a beautiful gilt bronze cherub measuring 8 inches tall standing to the side of the clock. The clock is further adorned with detailed raised sculptured bow, arrows, torch, floral, wreath and exquisitely designed foliate relief on the front and sides of the clock. Below the clock are two flying insects in sculptured relief. This is one of the nicest circa 1800 French Empire clocks you might ever hope to find. Height from bottom to top of cherub's head 13-1/4 inches, width at base 9 inches, depth 3-1/4 inches.
