Charming Antique Buzza Company Motto Plaque

Very charming Buzza Regal Motto Plaque - "The House By the Side of the Road" by Sam Walter Foss. This lovely piece features a beautiful and distinctive print affixed to a painted and gesso-covered wood plaque in red, blue, and gold. George Buzza, of the Buzza Company of Minneapolis and a member of the Handicraft Guild of Minneapolis, was known for these motto plaques, circa 1920's, which were featured on "Flea Market Finds With The Kovels" in March, 2004. This piece measures approximately 9 1/8 inches high, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 3/8 inch deep. On the back is an embossed crest-shaped label: THE BUZZA REGAL MOTTO PLAQUE, BR. No. 4, THE HOUSE BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SAM WALTER FOSS, Copyrighted, GESSO DURO CRAFT. On the paper label beneath it (corner missing) is "THE HOUSE BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD", PRINTED BY THE BUZZA COMPANY, MINNEAPOLIS, MINN., U.S.A., BY ARRANGEMENTS WITH LOTHROP, LEE & SHEPARD CO., FROM "DREAMS IN HOMESPUN." COPYRIGHT, 1897, BY LEE & SHEPARD. This piece is in very good condition, intact, with just a very small amount of missing paint. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition.
