CARON Josephine Baker Poster Aft PAUL COLIN

Unavailable
This magnificent large poster entitled "Josephine Baker Au Bal Negre" was created by the French artist Caron in 1950, after the original theater poster created by Paul Colin in 1927 and printed by M. Ducelier. Poster measures 25.25" x 31.5" and frame measures 34" x 41.8" x 1". Exact date of this poster is not known. It was purchased by our client and framed over 20 years ago. Signed "CORON" in the plate in the upper right corner. Condition is excellent, with no pin holes, rips or tears. Some modest wrinkling noticeable in the top third. Beautifully mounted and framed by Ted Marshall at Fleischer Frame Co. in Manhattan. Mounting method is not known, and the poster may be glued down to its backing. Wooden frame features a thick black lacquer finish and is in good condition. There is a chip from the lower left corner. We have not examined the poster outside its frame, and this item is being sold "as is". We will not dismantle the frame to ship the print separately.
