CARNIVAL "ACORN & BURRS" PUNCH SET GREEN NORTHWOODS VERY RARE
This Acorn & Burrs Punch Set came from a local Church that has dissolved after almost a hundred years. The Punch Set was loaned to the Church by one of the original members,( HER GREAT GRANDMOTHER) for Ice Cream Socials and the like. I asked her about the Ladle Notch, (something that I had not seen before), and she said that in the early years, people while trying to serve from it almost toppled it over because of the Ladle catching on the Flutes. They had one of the street Venders who used to go door to door sharping knives and repairing broken China, Glass and Metal Pots and Pan items to make a notch for the Ladle to rest in and give it more room to exit. She said it worked and was never toppled again. She was given the set back after the Church closed. It has SUPER colors and no damage except for the notch (WHICH ALMOST LOOKS LIKE IT WAS MADE THAT WAY) and some mild inside surface ware from use Ladle come with the set !!!. I have tried to show good pictures of actual details. This set books for $2500.00 and recently have brought from $1,000.00 to $2,000.00, with this kind of color.
