Condition: Attached to mat with brown paper tape. In excellent condition. Mat should be replaced.
Artist's Biography:
Carle Michel Boog (1877-1967) Swiss/American. Born in Lucerne, Switzerland in 1877, he studied in Paris with Bonnat and exhibited in the 1904 Paris Salon. Soon afterwards he emigrated to the United States and studied at the Arts Students League in New York. By 1908 he made Brooklyn, New York his home and was a member of the Salmagundi Club, the American Watercolor Society, the Allied American Artists, and the Society of American Artists. He was a WPA artist who did murals of New York City. In addition, he was also known for his outdoor watercolors and oil painitngs of New York parks and cityscapes. He also had a career as an illustrator of children's books. FSA:Ptgs
