Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. We specialize in price guides and reference books for the antiques and collectibles industry.
Canadian Coins, Volume Two, Collector and Maple Leaf Issues, Third Edition - Spiral Bound - was published June 30th 2012.
The third edition (400 pages) lists more than 1100 coin designs and has more than 1800 colour illustrations. All mintages have been updated to 2011. Also, the Royal Canadian Mint engravers for most coins have been either corrected or added.
The first edition was released with 320 pages and with the third edition coming in at 400 pages, Volume Two has grown 25% in the past two years.
One of the more interesting collector items has been the crystal elements on coins. Several series such as the $20 Crystal Snowflakes and the Crystal Raindrop series have moved up substantially from the original issue price.
The gold coin section continues to expand with new denominations such as the fifty-cent Boreal Forest Series and the three new $5 gold coins, plus a new 25.00mm $300 coin was issued to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The world's first 10,000 g (10-kilo) gold coin of 99.999% purity has been added to the bullion section. The reverse design of the $100,000 gold coin features Bill Reid's monumental sculpture The Spirit of Haida Gwaii.
After a two year hiatus four new privy mark silver maples have been added to the 24 pieces in the series.
