CIRCA 1820 Chinese Export Blue Canton Cider Jug with Foo Dog Finial. Nice double strapped handles. cider Jugs in any pattern are Rare but in Blue Canton they are almost Non Existent. This one is priced reasonable because it has some damage issues. Their are two hairlines that are near the handle. They are Visable from inside and outside. Their is also a rough spot on the tip of the spout, that might have been in the making. This Cider Jug, other than what I have mentioned is Fabulous with a Nice Dark Blue Color. It measures 7" to the top of the spout from the bottom. It measures 9 1/4" from the base to the top of the finial on the cover. Great Nice Double Strapped Handles with beautiful splotching where attached to the cider jug. Nice Foo Dog Finial and Wonderful rain and cloud border. Blue Canton Cider Jugs, especially large ones like this are Extremely Rare. Without damage issues that I have mentioned this Cider Jug would sell for $6000.00.
