Here's an old covered butter crock...Majolica? It is in the ear of corn pattern. There is one small "flake" on the side and it looks like there might be a "flaw" on the lid. Other than those two items, there are no chips, cracks or hairlines. Quite colorful and "country-looking." I don't know much about these but I don't think butter crocks are often found. This is a different size than the other one I have listed which doesn't have a lid! If you need additional pictures, please email me.
