This 1991 revised and edited version of E. Milby Burton's pioneer work, "South Carolina Silver 1690-1860" was republished with corrections, additional information, biographies, touchmarks, and sketches, making it the most complete and accurate book on South Carolina silversmiths and their work. Burton was Director of the Charleston Museum from 1931-1971. His original book came out in 1942 and his 1968 reprint is out of print. More than 550 silversmiths have been included in this book which has already been sold out. The Charleston Museum has no more copies. There are only a few copies of the 1991 revise left, so get one while you can.
