Lots of history I can send if you are interested but basically this is a synopsis:E.S. Burnham got a patent of his "Hasty Jellycon" in 1906 but an ad I found in a 1915 newspaper said he had been selling it for 32 years! This is probably a store jar. The powder was probably sold by weight or measure from it. Jell-O was an early (and successful!) competitor. The raised lettering on the front has some remaining gold paint & reads "Burnham's Jellycon". Ornate stoppers;both in good condition. The jars are tall & slender so not stable so a wonder that only one is damaged. It has a chip out of the top rim & a stress fracture & a crack but is holding together. The "perfect" jar has a factory flaw in the rim. Looks like some sort of ash or debris as well as a bubble. For more info on Jellycon do a Google search for Jello-O. I can also send what research I have with the jars.
