Additional photos available.Handsome burl box booked and matched from England 19th century. Inlaid with satinwood along the spine and two front corners of the lid appearing as a wooden book. The lap desk sides and interior are of maple all hand made. Small solid brass hinges. Some couples of the 19th century used as a family Bible box or for protection of a very important book,others as a stationary desk box much as a lap desk filled with the inks, pens and stamps. A handsome piece for whatever purpose in home,desk or office. all in excellent condition. Measures 10L X 9D X 2.5.
