Brown & Sharpe No. 261 Inside Micrometer 2-12.5 inch + More

This is a nice clean, used, 2"-12.5 inch capacity inside micrometer, it is marked "BROWN & SHARPE MFG. CO. PROVIDENCE R.I. 261". It .001" graduations up to .500". There are small precision V grooves cut in each of the rods, that the male V on the micrometer threaded collet fits into, to size the rod in the appropriate position, and then the nut at the end of the rod is for calibration. There is a calibration wrench supplied, along with a height gage (look a bit like a tiny surface gage) also supplied. The height gage is also marked "BROWN & SHARPE MFG. CO. PROVIDENCE R.I." and is in the old 1930's catalog as No. 598. It has a collet the same diameter as the inside micrometer in this set, and is design to be used with the No. 260, or 261 models. All these precision tools are in very good working order, very good straight rods, the micrometer in great shape with very little wear, and the height gage base in very good shape with a little pitting noted around the base of the collet holder, with not effect use, otherwise near mint condition (a pretty rare little tool!). This has no owner's names and or marks on any of it. It has been inspected, and is properly calibrated. A good old machinist tool! A rare find! Don't miss out!
