Bros Schoenau Huttensteinach Urn Vase

Unavailable
This is a porcelain covered urn vase or jar by the Bros. Schoenau, Huttensteinbach of Thuringia Germany. Believed to date from circa 1920. Measures 16 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches and weighs approximately 6-7 lbs. Excellent condition. Only flaws are a couple small chips from the edge of the underside and some wear to the gold decoration along the edge of the lid. Carries the company's hallmark which includes an " S " in a shield with crossed swords at top. There is a paper label on the underside of the top which is believed to be from a retailer in Koln. This company merged with Swain & Company in 1920 and became known as Bros. Schoenau, Swaine & Co. In 1954 the company was nationalized and the name was changed to VEB Sonneberg Porcelain Factories. This name was kept until 1990. Thanks for visiting. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
