This bronze owl sculpture by Diana Guest (-1995), numbered 1 of 8, was cast by the Blanchet Landowski foundry in Paris in the 1970s. It sits upon a white marble plinth and measures 13" wide, 14" tall and 8" deep. It is signed by the artist on the base of the rear. Guest was born in England to an American mother and British M.P. She exhibited extensively in galleries and at salons in France from the 1960s through the 1980s. She has held one-man exhibitions at the Herve, La Demeure, and Galerie du Bost in Paris, Hana Gallery and Kenneth Neame Gallery in London, Rotapfet Gallery in Zurich, and in numerous galleries in the U.S., including the Palm Beach and Seaview galleries in Palm Beach, and the Saratoga Gallery and Bodely galleries in New York. She has won a silver medal from the Ville de Paris and her "Sleeping Eagle" alabaster sculpture is included in the permanent collection at the Musee du Havre in France. Her 1979 bronze sculpture, entitled Naja, is on display in the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden at the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach. Her book, Diana Guest Stonecarver, was published by Livingston, Montana Clark City Press, in 1993. Additional images forwarded upon request.
