French bronze C.19th century door knocker with grape bunches and leaf design. Good weight to the piece. The bottom tip of the grape leaf lifts to knock against a 1 inch thick knocker on the back plate which connects with two screws to the door. The pin which holds the two together had been lost over the years. Currently a screw and tiny washer in place which attaches the two and centers one over the other. In order to install the screw and washer would be removed and the backplate attached to the door then the screw and washer re-attached to the grape knocker. In excellent condition. Has not been polished giving an antique bronze appearance yet would be much brighter if desired by polishing. Measures 6H X 4L X 1.5D with the raised grape motif in center.
