A top-quality British Napoleonic cavalry circa 1800 A.D. Officer’s Sword with a gold gilded brass hilt, stirrup knucklebow, shell guard, silver wire grip, a well executed slightly curved single edged blade with fuller with its original blueing engraved on both sides with gold inlaid emblems as crescent moons, lances, drums and garlands, signed on the back by the famous JJ Runkell who immigrated from Solingen Germany to Great Britain in the late 18th Century. The Leather scabbard with three large hussar style gold gilded brass mountings with the Locket bearing the name of the top notch sword retailer for British aristocratic officers, Samuel Brunn, reads “S.BRUNN Sword Cutler to H.R.H the Prince of Wales 55 Charing Cross London. Measurements: overall length with the scabbard: 36inches (91, 5 cm), length of the sword without the scabbard: 37 5/8 inches (90,5 cm), length of the blade: 29 7/8 inches (76cm) width of the blade at the widest point: 1 ¾ inches (4,5cm). In very good condition (one suspension ring is missing).
