Borge Mogensen Mid-Century Modern Desk

This fabulous rolltop desk was created by the important Danish designer, Borge Mogensen (1914-1972). It measures 35.25" wide, 18.5" deep and 38" high. Desk height is 28.25" and sliding desk surface measures 7.25" deep when pushed in, and 16" deep when pulled out. Overall condition is very good, but there are some minor veneer losses on the drawer fronts, and some scratches to the desk surface. Mogensen's designs were produced by Erhard Rasmussen, AB Karl Andersson & Sönner, Boligens Byggeskabe, A/S Fredericia Stolefabrik, Fritz Hansens Eft. A/S, P. Lauritsen & Søn's Møbelfabrik, C.M. Madsen's Fabrikker and Søborg Møbelfabrik A/S. Underside carries the original paper label of Soborg Mobelfabrik. Mogensen was a contemporary of Arne Jacobsen and Hans Wegner, and along with these designers is credited with advancing the reputation of Danish furniture from the 1940s through the 1960s.
