This is a one-time only facsimile limited edition of the Book of Testaments, unanimously acclaimed as the most beautiful codex of the 12th century, the Book of Testaments provides a documentary, artistic, historical, social, critical and informative insight into medieval life, along with many other aspects making this truly masterful book essential reading for an understanding of the genesis of Spain.
It was made circa 1109-1112, its size is: ± 15"x9" (364 x 240 mm) and it contains 226 pages with 17 miniatures, illuminated initials and marginal decorations.
Bound in embossed, brown leather, comes accompanied with a leather case and a commentary volume (828 p.) by Elena E. Rodríguez Díaz (Universidad de Huelva), Mª Josefa Sanz Fuentes (Universidad de Oviedo), Joaquín Yarza Luaces (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona) and Emiliano Fernández Vallina (Universidad de Salamanca). Unfortunately, there are currently left commentary volumes in Spanish only.
