Or Best OfferTHIS BLUE OPALESCENT "PIASA BIRD" BOWL:Is 7 3/4' Wide By 4" High .It Is In The Jack in the Pulpit Shape. This Pattern Was Known By Several Different Names Until Heacock Came Out With His Series Of Books In The 1970's. I Live In The ALTON Area Of Illinois And I New Of The Indian Legend Of The Piasa Bird. I Sent Him A Picture With A Story Of The Legend And It Convinced Him (ALONG WITH THE FACT THAT MOST OF THE PIASA BIRD ITEMS ARE FOUND IN THIS AREA) That At Some Time In Past History The Piasa Bird Pieces Were Made TO Sell Around Here As Souvenirs! As There Is A Big Glass Factory In Alton, It all Made Sense. He Took The liberty To Claim The New Name But In Fact Gave Me Credit (IN THE PREFACE) So My Small Claim to Fame Is I Actually Gave The Pattern It's New Name. Never The Less The Bowl Shape Is A Very Hard Item To Find. It Is Much more Common In Vases, Rose Bowls & Spittoons. The Retail Value Is Around $150.00. THE SHIPPING IS FREE!
