Sukhothai Buddha images convey or emanate energy, and the ketumala, or flame like radiance, that stands at the top of the Buddha's head is emblematic of the character of the image as a whole. The ketumala, which translates to 'garland of rays', has been defined as a vibrant trail of ascending rays emanating from the most upper portion of the head, and as an accumulation of brilliant illumination that having arisen from the head. This stunning statue glows with a polished silver finish. Made in the famous "Lost Wax" method of bronze sculpture.
