Great decor piece, black brolly with very nice horn handle with thumb stop. It has a sterling silver collar with scrolls and an initial panel which has been engraved, but now rubbed smooth. Silversmith's mark is V & M, with a date letter of O, but no town mark visible. There is a turned wood top to the shaft, and it still has its original ferrule at the base tip. Umbrella is 90 cm long (about 35.1/2 inches). The canopy is a fabric, and it has some little holes in it. The shaft has been scraped from the rise and fall action, but everything still works.
Probably would date from late 19th to very early 20th century.
