Bizarre primitive Arabian Nights Ceremonial Knife etruscan metal work ritual dagger

Unavailable

I was told this is a Jambiya and would have been worn on a belt. It is used in traditional events but as a weapon only in extreme cases of conflict. In the majority of cases the double-sided blade of the janbiya is constructed of steel. I think this one is steel as well but am not positive. The blade is stored in this tanned leather sheath and the handle is primitive wood. The sheath is decorated with various ornaments that signify status. These include silver hammered round and diamond shapes and raised studs. . The sheath would have been  fixed on a leather belt .   This measures 13" from end to end and is being sold as found. Please see the photos for the condition.   VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our pieces regardless of which site it comes from. All layaway payments will need to be in the form of a check or money order only.
