The greatest triumph of the 1936 XI Olympiad held in Berlin was that of Jesse Owens. Despite being the wrong nationality and the wrong race for the hosts, the Germans give the champion his due is this official commemorative album of the games. The book is filled with tipped-in photos of the events and winners, the ceremonies and the officials including Hitler (in fact he gets the whole first page of the book). There are descriptions of all the competitions and ceremonies and rundown of the medals. All the text is in German. This is a highly sought-after sports, Olympic and historical book.

Excellent condition. Tight binding and clean pages. Almost no shelf wear, some fading on right edge of front cover.
