Description: "The Artist's Garden", oil on canvas board , signed lightly in l/r, About 24" x 20" sight, 28" x 24" framed. Condition: Very good condition. Biography: Painter in oil and watercolour of landscapes, interiors and still life.. Studied at Brighton Art School, and in Paris under J. P. Laurens and J. E. Blanche. Exhibited at the RA from 1898, at the RI, ROI, and RWA. Elected ROI in 1913. Lived at Hove in Sussex for many years and died on 8th January 1956. - from Dictionary of British Artists Working 1900-1950 by Grant M. Waters. Burleigh exhibited views of Corfe Castle at the Brighton Arts Club (a major provincial group, but with many 'London' names) in 1911, 1914 and 1916. He was also working again in Dorset in the 1920s.
